Strike-Invest

About

Strike-Invest is a platform that connects startups seeking funding with investors seeking venture capital investment opportunities. After startups apply through a web portal, Strike-Invest displays their collected information through an app as pitch decks, allowing investors to choose which startup they want to invest in.

Challenge

Create a portal with many forms for busy startup founders to complete, and then to design an app that showcases that information clearly and concisely.

My role

• Content strategist
• Interaction designer
• Interface designer

Solution

• Designed a portal to collect precise information.
• Analyzed users' behavior to identify and improve problematic areas.
• Developed an app interface that collects data and presents it in standardized pitch decks that neatly display unique content.

Collaboration team

• Engineering
• CEOs
• Investors

Taking on different roles

Assumed many responsibilities as a founder, designer, content creator, and content strategist. Created the company branding, a website/portal, an app, the campaigns to recruit startups, developed data analyses to optimize campaign results, and created pitch decks and presentations to get funded.

Creating onboard experience

I designed an onboarding that offers guidance to new users. Images and microcopy inform the user of how the investment processes work.

Sign-in/up flow

I created a clean and easy sign-in/up flow that makes it easy for users to sign in or sign up for the app.

Swiping a concept

The other founders wanted an experience that felt like a Tinder-like dating app but with fintech content. I achieved an effective structure with a harmonious feel that didn't mimic the look of a dating app.

Designing information

Conducted research to optimize the utilitarian function of the main cards. The result is a card that is both informative and inviting.

Formulating forms

Created forms that worked with dynamic content to construct a vertical scrollable pitch deck.
Structured that form to organize the information captured in a hierarchical manner that tells the story of the business hoping to raise funds.  Reduced the nine pages forms to six pages without losing important content, which helped to increase conversion.

Creating a pitch deck

I converted diversified information collected through a portal into a coherent standardized pitch deck presentation.

Content grouping

Worked to curate content that helps users make better decisions.

Carving a path

Created a structural map that helped visualize the correlation of possible actions taken by the user trajectory.

Collaborating on ideation

I worked with colleagues to create a layout of the essential features and elements that each user needs to achieve his or her goal. In addition, we developed content that delivers a better user experience. With our wireframing, we could visualize all the necessary system interfaces and flows, which also helped the team stay on the same page regarding what the product should be or have.

Becoming user-centered

Created personas based on real people and, through the design process, tried to address their needs and wants.

Takeaway

It was such a pleasure to collaborate with my teammates to develop a product that didn't exist before. I was glad to contribute with hard work, dedication, acumen, and a dash of wisdom. It was nice to see the product come to fruition. I took so many positions and sometimes was surprised to see how capable I was of producing results, learning to adapt, and solving problems. One of the many instances was seeing the results of my startup recruitment campaign. Initially, I wasn't tasked to bring the startups to the platform, but I took it upon myself to create the marketing campaign. I felt exalted with the good results, even more, when I could use/interpret data to maximize conversions. I have learned a lot since working on this project, and I'm readier than ever to take on tasks that previously felt too grandiose.
